Vztažné vety sú súčasťou zložených viet a poskytujú dôležité informácie o osobe alebo veci.

Existujú dva typy vzťažných viet:
- Určujúce vzťažné vety poskytujú zásadné informácie
- Neurčujúce vzťažné vety poskytujú doplnkové, nepodstatné informácie
